March 2011
Lying under a dogwood tree
On a hammock in the shade
I swear I saw a glimpse of heaven
In the clouds passing on parade
Sleep with me in a floating bed
Beneath a canopy of pines
Love with me in a forest meadow
Amid the clovered grass
Live with me in an oaken cabin
Under the eaves of time
Hold a feather in your hand
Like some whimsical dream
Hold a sunset in your eye
Like some star-kissed gleam
Walk with me in the blue of dawn
Under the trees of morning
Breathe with me in the air of dew
Under the skies of summer
He drew her image from memory
Twas spring when they first met
Lips red as a blooming daisy
She tasted of morning dew
Summer had brought the fall
Their love waning with the moon
He kept a faded lone petal
A keepsake of a love he thought true
ONE SUMMER NIGHT
Swimming nakedly in a garden pool
Beneath a rising moon
Kissing softly in a lovers embrace
Beneath a willow tree
Whispering urgently in a climactic sigh
Beneath a waterfall
The misty morning fog
Shrouded the intertwined limbs
In a forest dark and foreboding
The early morning sun
Reached out its saving grace
To guide me safely home
Like a fiery sunset
Passion smolders in my soul
Burning embers of loss
Rising like a phoenix
A flight of winged desire
Seeking Loves embrace
