December 2010
In my dreams there are two swings
On a tropical island in a far away land
In my dreams there are two souls
Searching for meaning they can understand
In my dreams there are two hearts
That fell in love on that ocean sand

Her eyes were bright
As a Winters blue moon
Reflecting love and light
Her touch was warm
As a Springs first thaw
Melting a heart long torn
Her lips were sweet
As a Summers moist dew
Delivering a tasty treat
Her heart was gold
As an Autumns fallen leaf
Promising riches untold

In the throes of winter
I saw
A frozen setting sun
In the throes of silence
I heard
A field of untouched snow
In the throes of love
I danced
A song of twilight blue

He’d sketched her face in pen and ink
Now the image was etched in his mind
A lonely tear had fallen
Amid the bare trees of winter
Like autumn leaves at the first frost
It felt cold as it touched his lips

Like a winter stream
In a snowy forest glade
My heart seems nearly frozen
The fire and the passion
Encased in an icy hush

Twas early December after the snow
You crossed the bridge to my heart
Frosted trees bowed in romantic delight
At the kiss by the fire on that winters night

The house came alive during the holidays
Small children running room to room
Familiar sounds and scents of Christmas
Turkey in the oven and Bing would croon
There are no better memories
Festive nights and a cold bright moon
